Why does everything have to be so hard?

They say that when you are following your passion everything works out easy and if you can follow your passion in your job, then you never have to work another day in your life.

I somewhat agree with this however, we can put our own roadblocks in the way by believing that things always go wrong.  This in itself can be a self fulfilling prophesy.  We can bring on such difficulties merely by repeating “negative mantras”, such as:  It’s easy for them, but we have to work hard for it!  or It never works for me.

Getting to the place where I am now has been a looong, hard slog.  Writing my eBooks was the easy part because I love that part.  But people kept asking me “How are you going to market it?”  At the time I didn’t have the finances to employ someone with the know-how to do this for me plus, I didn’t know where to find the right person anyway.  So I started a journey in learning all I could about how to get my eBook out to the market.

I tried a free blog site where everything fell into place except a couple of crucial things which I couldn’t get around.  You know, simple things such as how do people pay me.  Then someone told me to use WordPress because it’s easy.  Even this process was difficult for me to set up.  Then, because I had so much difficulty with the website I had trouble focusing on getting to my computer and doing anything productive.  Instead I found other “important” things (read- distractions) to do with my time.

Why was everything so hard?  This part was not my passion!  My passion is helping people to have a better, more fulfilling life.  So while I was spending so much of my time learning about how to market my eBook and website I wasn’t writing anything and I wasn’t helping anyone.  There was no satisfaction in this process let alone fulfilling my passion.

So what is the answer?  Fortunately, I have the finances to outsource these things now, but what if I didn’t?  It was time to think outside the box.  What could I do?  What can you do if you need something done but don’t have the asking price?  If you don’t ask the question, the answer is always NO.

I wanted a personal trainer to kick my butt to finally lost the weight once and for all however, I didn’t have the money toChange your mind, not your diet, with Eliza Rose Coaching. pay for one so I began to look outside the box.  Perhaps I would be able to offer my services as a Life Coach to someone who could train me.  It’s called barter – trading goods or services instead of money.

I was at a dinner with some friends and while there, I thought I heard someone talk about starting their own business as a personal trainer, as they had just left the gym they had worked for.  I asked her if she was interested in being coached in exchange for training me.  She gave me that slow nod like I had just offered her the chance of a lifetime.

I want to point out something important here –  I was clear about what I wanted and I got it!  I wanted to find a gym trainer and pay for it using my Life Coaching.  Some people believe in the Law of Attraction and some don’t want to believe it because it can’t be proven.  I believe that when I was clear on what I wanted, the “Universe” put things in place (the gym trainer and me at the same table where I overheard enough to ask her for a deal) and what I had asked for manifested.  I have many stories like this.

It turned out that this experience was the start of my discovering my Purpose, and that “there has to be more to this  than the whole diet and exercise caper”.

We can make things easy for ourselves, including focusing on doing what comes natural to us, rather than trying to “do it yourself” in everything you want done.  Sometimes we just need a little guidance.  Why not make a new mantra:  My Life is EASY!  The right person will show up so that I can get it done easily and simply.  You will be surprised and pleased at how much easier your life is.

Here’s to an Easy and fabulous Life!
